In October 2025, Virginia Cerantola, agronomist at AAPRESID - Argentine Association of No-Till Farmers, completed her secondment at the Group of Agroecology of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (Pisa, Italy) within the NeutraWeed project. Her stay focused on scientific exchange, training, and joint planning of agroecological weed-management strategies.

As part of the Agroecology Group’s activities, Virginia contributed to an experimental design meeting with the University of Pisa team, helping refine protocols and sharing AAPRESID’s expertise in no-till farming and ecological weed management. She attended seminars and academic discussions, including a presentation by Prof. Elba de la Fuente, NeutraWeed secondee from the University of Buenos Aires. Together with the team, she also coordinated activities with Italian researchers currently undertaking their NeutraWeed secondment in Argentina.

Her secondment generated important outcomes: strengthened experimental planning within NeutraWeed, deeper international collaboration, and new opportunities for joint research initiatives, field days, comparative experiments, and exchange programmes. Virginia’s visit has further consolidated the collaboration between Italy and Argentina, advancing NeutraWeed’s mission to promote sustainable and biodiversity-friendly weed management.

Stay tuned for upcoming developments from this growing partnership!
