NeutraWeed at International Weed Science Society meeting

In October, Marco Esposito, coordinator and scientific director of the NeutraWeed Project, presented a new research project he is conducting between the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa (Italy), Cornell University (United States), Zhejiang University (China) and the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (France) at the joint meeting between the International Weed Science Society, the Asian Pacific Weed Science Society and the Weed Science Society of China in Nanjing.

The name of the research project is "Understanding the ecological and biological interactions between Neutral Weed Communities and crops across the globe". The aims are to identify NWCs in the major cropping systems in the USA, China, and Europe, and to understand their interactions with crops from the ecological and microbiological perspectives. The other authors involved are Profs. Camilla Moonen, Paolo Bàrberi, Stefano Carlesi (Sant'Anna), Profs. Antonio DiTommaso, Matthew Ryan, and Dr. Uriel Danilo Menalled (Cornell University); Prof. Jinwen Zgìhu (Zhejiang University),
